Cheryl Yarwood of Secure Haven has seen a higher demand for double urns for the reunification of the ashes of two people – often a married couple.
Says Cheryl: “These are generally bought on loss of the partner and then the funeral director is left with instructions to place their ashes within the double urn after their own cremation.
“I have also developed a range of larger urns. For example, we now offer tow 4.5-litre urns – partly as a result of seeing younger, taller and sadly, healthier people come through the cremation process. We had one client whose ashes weighted 4.45KG. This family traveled quite a distance to find a solution and I manufactured the first 4.5 litre French Grey Serenity Brass Urn for them.
After receiving many requests from families, Secure Haven has also designed and manufactured a unique collection of even larger capacity urns. Designed to reunite loved ones’ ashes in a single vessel, the six-litre urns are made from solid brass and are available in three elegant designs. The lid of each urn is engineered with a high quality threaded fastening which keeps the ashes securely inside. Each urn arrives with its own purple velveteen bag.
The Angel of Rest, Secure Haven’s largest urn, has an eight litre capacity. These are weatherproof, watertight and cast in a stone and resin bond. Hand finished in an artist’s studio the urn is plated in natural iron, copper or bronze which produces an eye-catching colour. Finally, the urn is highly lacquered which creates a lovely sheen containing UV protection. This urn is accessed from the base via an 80mm anodized aluminium threaded plug.
