The Woodland Trust Launches Charitable In-Memoriam Product Range

The Woodland Trust will soon be launching a beautiful range of eco-friendly biodegradable urns and ash keepsake jewellery. Coral Banks, supporter marketing manager for products at the Woodland Trust, discovered the Limbo Geos urns and jewellery collection at the National Funeral Exhibition last year and has since been working with Essex-based cremation specialists Secure Haven.

Together they have re-branded the Limbo Geos and developed a unique collection of silver and gold plated keepsake jewellery. These include pendants, cufflinks, beads and brooches – all featuring the Woodland Trust oak leaf – and are the newest addition to the charity’s in-memoriam range, which already includes tree and woodland dedications and legacy products. All jewellery pieces have a discreet compartment easily accessed via a 2mm threaded grub nut, which allows for immediate interment of the ashes to provide peace of mind to families.

By increasing the types of in-memoriam products we offer, we can give people more options to commemorate and remember a loved one or pet at such a challenging time,” says Coral. “The links between life, death and woods are especially poignant, making these products a great fit for the Trust.

All profits will help the Woodland Trust protect, restore and create UK woodland. Coral explains,

we want people to feel like some good is coming out of something so difficult. By providing the opportunity to give to charity by buying a Woodland Trust in-memoriam product, we hope the bereavement process will be made a little easier for our supporters.

The ashes of a loved one or family pet are interred into the biodegradable urn, within which a sapling can be planted; creating a living and growing memorial. The Woodland Trust will be offering complimentary Woodland Trust trees with each order of the Geos Urn. Or, if the purchaser prefers, they can instead receive a complimentary tree dedication in one of the charity’s numerous woods all over the UK.

The urns and keepsake jewellery featuring the oak leaf will be supplied to the Woodland Trust by Secure Haven.

The quality of their products, as well as their focus on supporting bereaved families made Secure Haven an ideal match for us,

Coral comments.

We’re really looking forward to working with them in the future.

The new range of urns and jewellery is due to launch in April 2016. For further information please email the Coral from the Woodland Trust at coralbanks@woodlandtrust.org.uk or call 0330 333 5302.
