Independent Funeral Directors covering Chelmsford and Essex

Secure Haven are proud to announce they are NEW members of the NAFD

Essex couple Paul and Cheryl Yarwood took a bold and fresh approach to the issues and attitudes surrounding death when they set up Secure Haven.

The company established last year in a beautiful Grade II-listed Essex Barn at Margaretting near Chelmsford is helping to revolutionise the approach to death by offering the bereaved an alternative pathway for their journey through grief – particularly following cremation.

Secure Haven offers the only UK service for the collection and dignified short or long-term storage of cremated remains, giving family and friends valuable thinking time so that decisions can be, able about a final resting place free from anxiety.

The Yarwoods have scoured the world to create an exclusive range of ecological ethical and cost sensitive ‘Greener’ products for cremated remains. These include beautiful biodegradable urns – the Spiritree, the Bios Urn and the Limbo Geos Urns, in which ashes can be buried incorporating a growing tree sapling that will continue to grow as a living memorial. These special urns can be buried within a planter so the memorial tree can move with the family.

For these whose long-held desire or cultural preferences are for a sea committal, Secure Haven is the sole supplier of dissolvable Limbo Samsara and Nu Urns and also offers a range of lovely keepsakes and ash jewellery. All these options can be specified as part of a will or funeral plan.

Says Cheryl Yarwood:

When someone dies, so begins a huge grieving process and many people just need more time to think things through. Our service takes the immediate pressure off them and gives them space to make the best decision- now with the possibility that their loved one could help nurture a living memorial or be safety committed to sea.
